FACTS

Anderson County - Located in the northwestern corner of South Carolina along the Georgia border and at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and home to Lake Hartwell. Population around 182,000, the country is 777 square miles, 764 feet elevation, Anderson has 4 seasons with mild winters and warm summers with the average temperature at 62 degrees, annual rain fall of 47 inches, sales tax of 6%, and is only about 2 hours to Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC. Cities include Anderson, Belton, Honea Path, Iva, La France, Pelzer, Pendleton, Piedmont, Starr, Townville, West Pelzer, and Williamston.

Greenville County - Once the stronghold of the Cherokee Indians, it was not ceded until 1777, but was know as Pleasantburg until 1831. It is home to the Falls Park and Liberty Bridge. Cities include Fountain Inn, Greenville, Greer, Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Travelers Rest.

Oconee County - It takes its' name from a Cherokee word meaning "land beside the water". The county was formed in 1868. It includes lakes Hartwell, Keowee, and Jocassee, Chattooga river with white water rafting, waterfalls, the Sumter National Forest, all at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Cities include Chickasaw Point, Fair Play, Mayucha, Mountain Rest, Newry, Oakway, Salem, Seneca, Tamassee, Tokeena, Utica, Walhalla, West Union, and Westminster.

Pickens County - Was part of Pickens District that was divided in 1868 into Oconee and Pickens Countries. The elevation ranges from 600 feet to 3,548 feet with an average of 1,200 feet. The population is around 107,000. Cities and towns include Arial, Central, Clemson, Easley, Liberty, Nine Times, Norris, Pickens, Pumpkintown, Rocky Bottom, and Six Mile.

Union County - It's name comes from the old Union Church that stood near Monarch Mill and played a role in American history as several battles were faught there. The town of Union was known as Unionville and later shorten to Union. Cities and towns include Carlisle, Jonesville, Lockhart, and Union.
